Katy McCown is president of She Laughs Ministries, author of She Smiles without Fear: Proverbs 31 for Every Woman, a writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries, and a national speaker. Katy left her job as a television news reporter to join her husband, Luke, on their adventure in the National Football League. They spent 13 years in the NFL where Luke played primarily as a backup quarterback. Luke and Katy have 6 children ranging in age from grade school to teenager.
Now that we have that out of the way …
Hi friend, I’m Katy. I would much rather sit across the table from you and sip on my favorite dark roast coffee while I tell you all about myself. And the first thing I’d do is let you in on a behind-the-scenes look at the precious video at the top of this page.
We filmed it one hot, summer day at our “home base” in Texas. I completely forgot to mention it to Luke until five minutes before we started. So, Luke made a quick (and a tiny bit reluctant) wardrobe change then sat down beside me to do one his least favorite things – talk.
Then I’d probably say something like, yes, I’ve been to a lot of football games in the last decade. And yes, I have 6 beautiful, energetic children who we homeschooled for several years and recently enrolled in public school. We’ve moved about a dozen times in the last 16 years and the mess in my van proves it. I’m an expert packer but a really terrible unpacker.
It’s safe to say the road has been anything but predictable. But through all of the uncertainties and surprises, I’ve learned some secrets about living sure even when the future is not. Because even when God’s path seemed to sideline my plans, it never sidelined my purpose. Which is a large part of what birthed the She Laughs Conference.
I’d love for you to spend some time around our web site. Stop by our speakers page to get acquainted with the voices you’ll hear at a conference or check out the events page to find out where we’ll be! You can also find out more about bringing a conference to your church by clicking here.
I feel a little bit like I’m inviting you into my home. I’m so glad you stopped by, and I hope you take your time, get comfortable and stay awhile.
Sincerely,
